Many institutions optimise for reach and attendance. But access alone does not create connection.
SUM+ARTS explores how audiences move from access to resonance, and from resonance towards intimacy.
Through research, writing, exhibitions and curatorial practice, we investigate what makes cultural encounters meaningful enough to stay.
WHAT WE BUILD
COP OUT is an ongoing socially engaged curatorial project being developed through an international Asia-Pacific collective, with the project currently taking shape towards November 2026.
The project engages with climate discourse, public space and collective action, using curatorial practice as a way to create space for participation, dialogue and shared reflection.
Rather than treating social issues as subjects to be represented from a distance, COP OUT explores how art and curating can bring audiences into the conversation — and how an exhibition might become a site for questioning, exchange and collective response.
ART PADI is an independent arts publication exploring exhibitions, biennales, audiences and cultural encounters.
Developed as close-to-experience writing, it begins with how art is actually encountered: what draws attention, what gets overlooked, what resonates and what stays.
Published on Substack, a platform embedded in everyday reading habits, ART PADI deliberately lowers the barriers around art writing. It aims to be accessible without losing critical depth, creating a bridge between specialist art discourse and lived experience.

Developed with works from the collections of NUS Museum and National Gallery Singapore, Bodies/Spaces: Embodied Worlds explored the body as image, container, political instrument and site of relation.
Conceived as a digital exhibition, the project also considered how exhibition-making might move beyond the physical boundaries of the gallery. Digital space can extend access across geography and time, while creating a less intimidating point of entry for audiences who may not ordinarily enter museums or feel familiar with the language of art.
Rather than reproducing the physical exhibition online, Bodies/Spaces explored the digital as a curatorial space in its own right — using sequence, navigation and screen-based encounters to bridge collections and audiences, and to open up different ways of looking, interpreting and connecting.
The exhibition unfolded through three movements — Moving to Contain, Moving to Reflect and Moving to Embrace— bringing together works by Ng Eng Teng, Liu Kang, Ho Soon Yeen, Lee Wen, Amanda Heng and Kara Inez.
